Kupala, the summer solstice feast, is one of few nights when magic can interfere with reality.

When you are a child, they tell you don’t go into the forest alone, especially on the night like kupala, it never ends well. And yet, when you wander through the trees lost and scared, a forest girl shows up and helps you out. You hear stories, how forest folk is only bad news, but you can’t stay away from her and  see her every year as she becomes your best friends and first love.

Kupała (or Kupala in English) is a fantasy story taking place during Summer Solstice over the span of few years, deriving from Slavic mythology and folk tales. In short- fantasy (peppered with romance) with Slavs. I bet you haven’t read anything like that yet! For more info, please check my tag [Kupała].

Honest warning: this is intended for mature readers. It may look like fairy tale, but it isn’t, believe me. I’d love to go into specifics, but anything I say at this point will ruin the plot, so I trust readers to be mature in whatever capacity they deem relevant when purchasing this comics.

Have I caught your attention and you want to purchase a comic? Great! Because we are opening pre-orders for the book!

1, 2, 3, 11! :P

I have shitty camera 8D, but here we go!

1: Take a picture of your workspace.

If I wouldn’t work mainly digitaly for the last few months, all these pens and markers in the back would be scattered everywhere.

2: Show your pencil case and what’s inside.

Fav supplies that I have to have near me, even if I don’t touch traditionals ‘3’. From left: retractable blade, pink marker, 4 various mechanical pencil fillings (black, red, blue), eraser, kneaded eraser, stick eraser, cheap, no-brand, but awesome water-brush with black ink in it, pen with G-nib, cheap, but also awesome fountain pen, Sakura micron, Unipen, Artline and Faber-Castell fine-liners, regular ball-pen, pencil, 4 mechanical pencils 0,35-0,7mm and 4 Graph’it Warm Grey markers (which are also epic). Also scissors, & empty fountain pen ink-container ‘//7//’.

3: Show a thing you last drew, no matter how small or a “doodle” it is.

My newest, fresh and steamy doodly dodles :’D These are brush-tests: I have hundreds and hundreds of unused brushes loaded into Photoshop, and lately I’m checking all of them, deteling some, and keeping those that I like.

11. Draw a pic of yourself like how you look just now.

…After caving next to my computer and working for 5 months straight, I really should start exercising, because I’m starting to have consistency of a pudding XD

I shall call it “This is what I do, when I don’t do, what I really should do” or, “massively pandering my comfort zone with 3/4 headshots and sporadic profiles”!
Randoms, might-become-OCs & OCs mixed, but hey, few weeks ago I’ve fought Wacom drivers, eliminated the unfamous pressure bug, discovered one hidden setting, that made me realise, that since I’ve bought my intuos3- which means over 6 years ago- I was working with only HALF of it’s parameters, because it was set in Standard mode. But now it’s in Recognision mode, and I feel extatic from the perceptible power-up I’ve got, and I’m like “all my life was a lie” too. 6 years.
And then I’ve tweaked the pressure curve. And it was sooo good. Dem digital lines. At last I have power over them. I need no sai now.

3rd of 9 consolation price portraits for participants of my giveaway raffle. It took me some time to get back to those because of job and Christmass.

Man, it feels so good to draw a bishie once in a while. Also ugghhhhh it seems I just can’t stop, I’m like “Yah! That should be enough! But I wanna slap that texture/gradient/layer mode on it for the lulz of it, and then I’m like ooooh wait I have an idea” and that’s how it ends and every sketch turns out too differently ughughuhg :V

Also I can’t decide which version I like better reddish or icy-blue, AND I WAS TURNING ON AND OFF LAYER WITH CONTRAST EFFECT FOR LIKE 40 MINUTES, Argh! So here, have both 8V
